Marissa Carranza Hernandez was born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley. Ms. Hernandez is a 1995 Honor Graduate of PSJA North High School and has been a licensed attorney since 2003. She is married to Jason Hernandez and has three children, Elijah, Ethan and Isabella.

Education:

 • University of Notre Dame (B.B.A. 1999) Ms. Hernandez received a four-year academic scholarship and obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
 • St. Mary’s University School of Law (J.D., 2002). Ms. Hernandez was the recipient of the Dean’s Book Scholarship for the academic year 1999-2000, and was named to Who’s Who Among American Law Students for 2000-2001 and 2001-2002.
